Some answers from King Unique
King Unique are two guys called Matt who make rough-edged dirty house music, Matthew Roberts and Matt Watkins Thomas, a pair of studio junkies with a taste for bulldozer beats and sick synthesizers. Their music has turned up everywhere from Hollywood soundtracks to mobile ringtones, not to mention countless compilations and mix albums.

Balance Electric_02 is arguably one of the year’s most accomplished mix-CDs. It also heralds a new side to UK duo King Unique, whose electro leanings are offset on the first disc by a warmer, stripped-down sound.

James Talk Interview
Earlier this year came the second in the 'Thinking Out Loud' compilation series from up and coming DJ and producer James Talk. Hailing from Southampton, he's steadily making a name for himself with an ever growing DJ schedule including a residency at King Unique's 'Curfew' night at Turnmills. In addition to this, James has been collaborating in the studio with such names as Dave Robertson, Pete Tong and hot London production outfit Audiofly. James has recently launched his own record label Spoken Recordings and is currently hard at work on his debut artist album, due for release in early 2007. Talk is the name.. and very much his nature as this interview proves.

King Unique & Nubreed - Balance Presents: Electric_02
2005 saw the creation of EQ's 'Electric' series, with Australian local Gavin Keitel talking the helm. As an offshoot from the label's highly successful Balance series, 'Electric_01' surprised many and came to be held in high regard as one of the favourite titles of the year for some, not just in Australia, but across the globe. Now one year on, and the label are set to bring the second volume in the series to us, as the dirty house dons King Unique join Australian legends Nubreed.
